Putting the rough cut together has been informative - revealing many holes that need filling, details that need telling. I have a list of the things I want to ask Dick about, and so in the same spirit of 28 Up and other major longitudinal documentaries, we return to Geelong six months after our last shoot.

It's a very different day - the sky is mostly overcast, or else littered with bulbous grey clouds. It rains. The temperature reaches a modest 15 degrees Celsius. All together, a fantastic contrast with our summer shoots.

12c_sladen milkbar cyclistWe do a long interview with Dick in the car and then return to the sites of the Bad Lady & the now demolished petrol station. As well as gets some fantastic shots of Corio Bay, the evocatively name Rippleside park and do another interview at North Shore - in front of the Meat Mart sign.

We're using a radio mike as well so the sound is much clearer. It's only later during the editing that the absence of any background ambience will begin to bug me - that and my own continuous appearance in the footage.
