5.5 hours editing, I've started keeping
a a paper running sheet and this is helping me keep track of
all this segments. The material is tightening up nicely, with
many of the holes being filled by the June interviews with Dick.
In the past weekend, got in another
7 or so hours of editing and had this strange feeling where
I could see the end in sight... Length is 21 minutes - I'll
probably still add another 3 or 4.
This weekend was spent rearranging sequences and refining (dicing
& slicing) some additional interview material. I'm now basically
happy with the words and can't see too many more additions.
Good results.
4
hours of editing and I can actually see the end in sight for
LH. 2, maybe 3 more scenes and twill be done. Pleased. Very
f***king pleased. Need to record a couple of spots of sound,
but I feel the high res capture is imminent.
Have reservations about doing future long-form projects. Too
much time, and I have so many techniques & ideas I want to play
with...
Had the day almost to myself. Spent
6 hours editing Lost. Finished off the use of all Dick's
photos.

Then the world got kind of cramped.
Got myself into quite a mess - because as I was working on one
section, the edits I was making were pushing things further
down the line out of whack. Clips were being overwritten.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
Noticed this around 1pm. Spent the next 2 hours sorting through
Autosaved copies of the FCP Project - I have it set to save
every 10 minutes. A lifesaver! Still it took me a long time
to go through these and, as part of the reclamation process,
I cut the New Cut 0803 sequence into separate scenes.
To do this I have to cut and paste part of the timeline into
a new sequence. And this does mean that each of these new sequences
has to rendered... Time, time, time.
