Return to Geelong for a spot of catch
up sound recording…
It is almost a year since we did the Winter
Interview…
First thing on the list is to record much needed location ambience.
This is to add behind all the interviews where we only used
the radio mike. So I return to the scenes of the crime…
I begin with North Shore for the Meat Mart interview, then
to Herne Hill for the closed Milk Bar and the demolished petrol
station.
Then I visit Dick at home. Dick’s broken his arm and is pretty
much stuck at home.
I
am visiting him because I have has a last minute revelation…
Nowhere in the documentary do you every hear “Szymczuk” pronounced.
And by not doing this, I feel, will mean viewers will give up
on trying to remember Dick’s last name – which is kind of silly
when the whole production is about him and his photography...
So I record Dick introducing himself - this will be added near
the start - along with an onscreen title.

Notes for the final prepping of photos
& some sound fixes
